- Did you catch the Jeezy and Gucci Mane Verzuz?
- I did and will proudly admit, I was all in. Though, I was slightly afraid because the tension was so high and I personally didn’t feel safe, in the comfort of my home.
- Yet, we’re not here to talk about that.
In true Strut fashion, we find lessons in everything and this battle was a whole sermon, in a very… ghetto… way. Check out the lessons we gathered in our notes from what we call “life” study with Senior Pastor Snowman and Ghetto Deacon Guwop (no judgment).
01. Everything & everyone doesn’t deserve a response.
One thing for sure, two things for certain – you can’t control the energy people bring but you have complete control over the energy you give. Sometimes, no response to pettiness, and to disrespect is the BEST response. Now, let’s keep it 100. Sometimes, you can’t ignore it. And when that time comes, make sure you’re responding & not reacting.

02. It’s okay to sit and and be chill.
I feel like we’ve been so conditioned to think that we have to be the loudest, flashiest one in the room to make our presence known. To display, “this ain’t the smoke you want.” But truth is, it’s the quiet ones you have to really watch out for. Sit and Chill, while they throw insults at you… it doesn’t make you weak. It actually shows how strong you are. Of course, it’s not ideal, and may not be conventional but in the words of Big Sean “Zen TF Out”.
03. Don’t completely focus on new.
“Leave the past where it belongs.” We’ve all heard the quote or something like it. But, if you don’t look back, how will you know where you came from? Your past, the old you help give direction to your new. Don’t just focus on the new things, without taking some time to pay homage to the old. I mean, if we’re thinking in terms of personal growth, you couldn’t be this new you, without the journey of the old you, right?! Just a little Food for thought.

04. Take your “L” like a G.
Hey, you win some… you lose some. A major rule of life. No need to be a sore loser and to harp on the lost. Be wo(man) enough to count your wins like a true G.
