Ashley Renee, known as The Beaute Guru, does not tell her story like someone trying to impress you. She tells it like a woman who has had to live every lesson she shares.
By now, the outline of her journey is easy to admire. She stepped out on faith and began doing hair full time in 2015. She launched Purebana, a luxury haircare line, in 2018. She opened her first salon in 2023. She is trusted, sought after, and intentional about the experience she creates for everyone who enters her space. But what makes Ashley memorable is not the list of milestones. It is the woman behind them.
Behind every accomplishment is a woman who has been stretched by purpose. A woman who has had to keep moving when the vision did not look the way she imagined, when the money felt tight, and when God kept asking for a yes she did not always want to give. That is what makes Ashley such a fitting woman for this issue of Still… She Rises. Her story is about beauty, yes, but it is also about rising with intention. It is about becoming while the dream is still unfolding.
When I ask what she hopes people understand when they see Ashley, the woman behind the brand, she goes straight to the center.
“I hope that they can see a light and God within me first,” she says. “And then after that, I hope that they feel some sense of inspiration and a sense of, ‘I can do it too’.”
