Black HERstory Month Love Guide: Nurturing Dreams, Embracing Self-Love

Black HERstory Month

I can’t be the only Queen who loves a good combination. I decided to do something a little risky so I fused BHM & Valentine’s Day. I think we’ll deem it Black HERstory Month since both holidays deserve our attention and affection. Dreamers often have their eyes fixed on what’s ahead, constantly working toward their goals but this Valentine’s Day, I need you to pause and appreciate how far you’ve come.  You are literally HERstory in the making and you owe it to yourself to celebrate the small wins and the big milestones. You’ve grown, adapted, and overcome challenges—and that’s worth sweet sincere acknowledgment.

💕 Write yourself a love letter, affirming your strengths, acknowledging your struggles, and encouraging the woman you’re becoming. This simple act of self-love can reignite your passion and remind you that your journey is just as important as your destination.

Let’s talk Dreams (Shoutout to the King. Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that is ) .

If there’s anything I’ve learned from Dr. King is that dreams require attention, extreme care, and commitment, just like any relationship. Use this Valentine’s Day to take a tangible step toward one of your dreams or goals. Maybe it’s dedicating an afternoon to write, create, or plan. Maybe, it’s revisiting your vision board or journaling about your wildest visions.

Treat your dreams as if they were your most cherished partner—nurture them with time, focus, and love. The energy you pour into your dreams will eventually come back to you in ways you can’t even begin to imagine.

I have to be completely honest dreaming big can sometimes feel lonely, especially when your ambitions challenge societal expectations or traditional roles. Use Valentine’s Day to strengthen your connections with people who inspire and uplift you.

💕 Gather your closest friends for a “Galentine’s” celebration, sharing your dreams and encouraging one another. Love doesn’t only come in the form of romance; it flourishes in communities of like-minded women who cheer for each other’s successes and glow-ups.

If you haven’t guessed already we’re pretty much redefining Valentine’s Day. Society often pushes a very narrow definition of Valentine’s Day—one centered on romantic love. But as a dreamer, you have the power to redefine it for yourself.

What if Valentine’s Day became a day to celebrate YOU?

💕 Light candles, play your favorite music, indulge in your favorite dessert, and allow yourself to bask in the joy of being alive. Treat this day as a reminder that your relationship with yourself sets the tone for every other relationship in your life.

Let’s take this to another level ladies since Valentine’s Day is ultimately about love, and love is limitless. Use this time to remind yourself that your dreams are valid, no matter how gigantic or unconventional they may seem. Let the love you feel for your aspirations shut the mouth of any doubts or fears that arise as you spend time visualizing your future. What does your dream life look like? Who is the woman living it? Picture her, feel her joy, smell her aroma, and start aligning your actions today with her reality.

This Valentine’s Day, remember that you are worthy of love, not just from others but from YOU first. As a dreamer, you have the unique ability to see possibilities where others may see limitations. My challenge for you is to nurture that gift, honor your journey, and fall in love with the extraordinary history-claiming woman you are becoming.

The best love story is the one you write for yourself— we call it HERstory and fulfilling your dreams is the ultimate Valentine’s gift .

With an everlasting love …. Queen Fierce
