It’s no secret that this pandemic has been a T E S T for us all! Here at Strut in Her Shoes, we thought it was important for us to shine light on hardships we have overcome! Thus, showing overcoming this pandemic and crazy year – is nothing different.

Lauren’s story of Provision & Grace encourages us all.

God has so much room and space to do what he does best, conjure up the faith and believe he’s a provider and he will be that for you!

ABOUT LAUREN

I’m Lauren Melissa, a Detroit native, product of Cass Tech High School and a graduate of Grand Valley State University. I received my Bachelor’s in Broadcasting and my Master’s in Public Administration. It seemed like the American Dream to graduate and get a job right afterwards. I was making decent money and I’d bought my own house and I wasn’t even 30 yet! But even in all that I knew when it was time for a shift. I ended up leaving my job in early 2018 and decided to dedicate my time to doing what I know I’m called to do. So, I took the leap of faith and invested in myself to begin to let my voice be heard to help others.

I believe everyone goes through life at their own pace, but we all have similar experiences, (both great and not so great) that connect us. I consider myself a conduit for change. Or, at least, that’s what I hope to be. I want to make change in people’s lives and in the workplace by writing, speaking, and mentoring. I love communicating with people and I hope to use those gifts that God has given me to brighten up someone’s life. I want people to feel comfortable, so no topic is off limits to discuss.

When I’m not talking to you all, I’m probably relaxing by having quiet time, watching my favorite tv shows (This Is Us, Grey’s Anatomy and 9-1-1), listening to music, or spending time with those closest to me. I absolutely love my quiet, reflective time. It’s a great feeling to relax and let your hair down and just “be”. But, I still consider myself an extrovert. I get my energy from people around me, especially my family. I have three siblings, one of which is my twin, and I’m the only girl. It makes for some interesting family and birth order dynamics. I am very social, so the more I hang out with like-minded people, the better. That about sums me up! Any other information about me, you can find on my blog!
