We took a piece of Brie’s story off of instagram, because it’s SO powerful! Often times, we look up to the Beyonces, Kim Karsdashins, and Rihannas because of their physical appearance, their talent… But what have they overcame? How has God moved in their life besides their monetary blessings?
Brie, is our Beyoncé. She’s a queen, not because of her looks… Not because she’s rich.. But because she’s a DAUGHTER OF THE MOST HIGH and is not afraid to let anyone know. She’s a survivor. She’s a girlboss.
Read her story below…
Adopted at the age of 3 weeks, never met anyone blood related to me, Rare tumor disorder, over 100 surgeries, doctors gave up, bone taken from my rib and put into my throat, trachea for a year, wasn’t supposed to live to see age 5, teen mother of 2 by 17, in an abusive relationship with their dad from age 15-17….SOMEBODY WAS PRAYING FOR ME!
17 years ago, I was in a medically induced coma for two weeks. The walls of my throat collapsed from over 75 surgeries since birth and doctors were trying to figure out how to save my life. My family was told to be prepared. I’d never walk or talk again if I lived. A bone was taken from my rib and put into my throat in order to hold the walls of my throat open. To this day…. That bone is still there. The scar is still on my neck and I have the scar under my right breast. I used to hate those scars. Until I realized they tell a story of survival.
Your story and purpose isn’t for you. It’s for others. Never be afraid of your past. We all are broken people who just need a little help sometimes. Never judge someone by how they look… You never know what they’ve been through. I’m here to tell you that faith can work miracles. After my surgery 17 years ago, I was awaken out of the medically induced coma and I can remember vividly, my mom looking at me and saying, “Brie…. They took a bone from your rib and it’s now in your throat. You have two options. You can be put back in a coma and risk not waking up or you can do what the doctors tell you and be still for the next two weeks.” I chose to be still. I had to write everything on sticky notes, I could barely move. The pain was crazy but i fought through it. Now…. Here I am 17 years later with that same bone in place. I was told it would have to be redone every few years…. It’s been almost 20. Don’t ever underestimate the power of faith and prayer. You’re here for a purpose, Queen…Figure out why and walk into it.
“For I know the plans I have for you,”declares the Lord”, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). God created every one of us to be successful. Before the foundation of the world, He laid out an exact plan for our life. And in this plan, He has marked moments that are going to come across our paths. These moments are not ordinary. They are destiny-altering moments. They are designed to thrust you years ahead. It says in Ecclesiastes that “time and chance come together for every person.” That means you’ll have opportunities to meet the right people, opportunities to advance in your career, opportunities to fulfill your dreams.
God has already pre-arranged times of increase and blessing. You may not be seeing a lot of good breaks right now, but let me encourage you; there are seasons of favor and seasons of increase marked for your future. There are God-ordained moments planned out for you. Don’t miss these moments! Don’t stop believing, and don’t get distracted by what’s going on in the world around you. Focus on removing the clutter from your life so that you can hear the still, small voice. Approach today with an attitude of faith and expectancy. As you do, you’ll embrace the God-ordained moments that are ordered for you!
