How did you get started in your industry?

Starting in college, I lived through my planner. Being a collegiate athlete and full-time student, I absolutely had to write everything down. As a result, I became obsessed with the concept of staying organized while also keeping track of my goals.

One month postpartum with my sweet boy, I decided to create Planher to encourage women like me to become more organized, mindful, and live in full abundance.

Growing up, did you imagine being an entrepreneur?

Absolutely. It’s funny because I also journaled and wrote things down as a child; in my entry, I wanted to be a model, singer, and business owner. (2/3 came true, so I’ll take it, lol)

In the beginning stages of developing your brand/business, what was your biggest struggle and how did you overcome it?

SELF DOUBT. Once I got over the hurdle of not being confident in myself and my brand, that was #gamechanger. I remind myself daily, “If not you, then who?”

Do you feel like you are pursuing purpose? If so, how did you know this was your purpose?

Alexis Hull

I knew this was my purpose when I saw women using my products to help them become their best selves. It was never about the money for me — purpose over profit.

Please tell us about, PlanHer?

Planher is the undated yearly planner, while OrganizeHER is the compact organizing carrying case. I also offer 1-on-1 “How to Manufacture Paper Products” Consultations.

What is the best part of PlanHer? What keeps you motivated to keep going?

The community of like-minded women is definitely my driving source.

As an entrepreneur myself, I understand that sometimes personal life can get in the way of business. Have you encountered any personal hurdles that could have or did result in a business pivot?

Simply put, balancing new mom life while also being a business owner has been a challenge but rewarding for sure. I’ve learned to write things down, pray, and receive. I thank God daily for covering me with discernment when I am uncertain. He has held me down through it all.

During these times, we’ve all had to adjust. How was this adjustment been for you and your brand?

These times have truly taught me the importance of living each day to the fullest and that time waits for no one. Adjusting for me during this time looked like buckling down and going after all of the things that I’ve dreamed of.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman just starting her career?

Be yourself. Once I learned that being my most authentic self is the best person I can be, that was game-changing.

Throughout this crazy journey that we call life, each & every day is another opportunity to grow and reach the full potential of becoming the person you were meant to be. So continue to climb those mountains.

Lastly, what keeps you struttin?

One day I woke up and decided to commit—the result of obedience and God’s grace. To fulfill my purpose while I’m here is what keeps me struttin.
