We chatted with Rya to learn more about her brand and how she provides the tool for Christian women to strut in their God-given purpose.

What is the name of your brand/business and how did you get started in your industry?

It’s called Intentionality For Women. I got started in the intentional living space through my own personal transformation and journey. I started in the marketing industry as a social media manager, which was a side hustle while I was working in corporate as an international trade analyst.

My job wasn’t no where close to fulfilling so I switched careers to digital marketing and advertising but my heart work and mission is all about inspiring women to live intentionally.

Growing up, did you imagine being an entrepreneur?

I didn’t. I honestly never even knew what it was. About 4-5 years ago, when I came home from college, I was told I was CEO material by my mentor and those words never left me. Ever since then I set out on this journey to become just that. I also landed on entrepreneurship because it’s the only way I can do what I love, make more impact, and live life on my terms.

In the beginning stages of developing your brand/business, what was your biggest struggle and how did you overcome it?

Feeling like I had something to offer and really figuring out my message. Messaging is so important as well as consistency. I’ve tried many things and failed forward really fast lol. It’s definitely a journey and honestly I’m still in the beginning. The struggle though is really getting out of your own way and just showing up.

Do you feel like you are pursuing purpose? If so, how did you know this was your purpose?

Oh yes!! My entire life’s mission is about deliberate action.

At first, I didn’t know how to turn my advocacy into a business and just recently I received the next piece of this puzzle, which is Intentionality For Women. I’ve tried to walk away from this burning desire to inspire personal growth and development for women, but it won’t let up lol. It’s something my heart is tied to, and that’s what makes it purposeful for me.

Please tell us about Intentionality For Women?

Intentionality For Women (IFW) is a purpose-driven collective that inspires personal growth and development for the Christian woman. This is a membership community where we master the art of living intentionally. We focus on 5 core areas: intellectual growth, spiritual growth, professional growth, social growth, and physical growth.

Every month, we focus on one of them within one of our core areas. IFW has been specifically designed to help women expand without information overload. Each quarter, the women will work on 1 skill within each area. The membership is available at two affordable rates: $7.99 a month or 84.99 for the entire year.

What’s the best part of Intentionality For Women? What keeps you motivated to keep going?

The community, hands down! It’s the being intentional and growing with other women who want the same things. The opportunity to serve other women in this way and to teach things that have not been taught in the traditional educational system motivates me so much.

As an entrepreneur myself, I understand that sometimes personal life can get in the way of business. Have you encountered any personal hurdles that could have or did result in a business pivot?

Yes! It was really hard to grow and expand in business when I wasn’t satisfied with my environment. I think when you’re in the middle of a life transition like I was, it consumes your mental energy because you’re trying to move your personal life forward. That has been a hurdle I had to manage and fortunately, I’ve done that.

During these times, we’ve all had to adjust. How has the adjustment been for you and your brand?

It’s actually been REALLY amazing! I’ve received so many opportunities to share my voice on other women’s platforms. The funny thing is all the work I had been doing prior with intentionality prepared me for this time. Nothing really changed, but who I am was amplified during this time and I thank God for it.

What’s the most important piece of advice you could give to a young woman starting her career?

Self-discovery is important – your own voice and desires are your superpowers. If you don’t know what you truly want, you’ll conform to the ways of society and end living on auto-pilot or doing something you THINK you should do.

Before you know it, you’ll be unhappy and won’t know why. So take time to know yourself. Let your curiosity and heart desires guide you to action WHILE you make a living until your own truth and vision become clearer.

Lastly, what keeps you struttin?

My faith in God. That’s all I have, honestly.
